It's Official: Kuwait's Burgan Field has Peaked
By Peter J. Cooper
KUWAIT: It was an incredible revelation last week that the second largest oil field in the world is exhausted and past its peak output. Yet that is what the Kuwait Oil Company revealed about its Burgan field. The peak output of the Burgan oil field will now be around 1.7 million barrels per day, and not the two million barrels per day forecast for the rest of the field's 30 to 40 years of life, Chairman Farouk Al-Zanki told Bloomberg. He said that engineers had tried to maintain 1.9 million barrels per day but that 1.7 million is the optimum rate. Kuwait will now spend some $3 million a year for the next year to boost output and exports from other fields.
However, it is surely a landmark moment when the world's second largest oil field begins to run dry. For Burgan has been pumping oil for almost 60 years and accounts for more than half of Kuwait's proven oil reserves. This is also not what forecasters are currently assuming.
Last week the International Energy Agency's report said output from the Greater Burgan area will be 1.64 million barrels a day in 2020 and 1.53 million barrels per day in 2030. Is this now a realistic scenario?
The news about the Burgan oil field also lends credence to the controversial opinions of investment banker and geologist Matthew Simmons. His book 'Twilight in the Desert: The Coming Saudi Oil Shock and the World Economy' claims that ageing Saudi oil fields also face serious production falls.
The implications for the global economy are indeed serious. If the world oil supply begins to run dry then the upward pressure on oil prices will be inexorable. For the oil producers this will come as a compensation for declining output, and cushion them against an economic collapse.
However, the oil consumers then face a major energy crisis. Industrialized economies are still far too dependent on oil. And the pricing mechanism of declining oil reserves will press them into further diversification of energy supplies, particularly nuclear, wind and solar power.
All this was foreshadowed in the energy crisis of the late 1970s when a serious inflection in oil supply by the year 2000 was clearly forecast. How ironic that those earlier forecasts now look correct, while more modern and recent forecasts begin to look over optimistic and out-of-date with geological reality.
Nobody can change the geology, and forces of nature that laid down reserves of oil and gas over millions and millions of years. Could it be that we have been blinded by technological advances into thinking that there is some way to beat nature?
The natural world has an uncanny ability to hit back at the arrogance of man, and perhaps a reassessment of reality at this point is called for, rather than a reliance on oil statistics that may owe more to political manoeuvring than geological facts. - AME Info FZ LLC.

The Price of Free Corn

Federal welfare is bad, all right. And the chief recipients of it right now are Bush Crime Family-connected cronies receiving no-bid contracts in the phony "snipe hunt" known as the Global War on Terror.

'Don't Sweat Small Stuff' author dies at 45
'Don't Sweat Small Stuff' author dies at 45
He wouldn't want me to "sweat" his passing, so I won't.
It seems like a lot of the self-help gurus die young.
I guess one way to look at it is in the saying, "Only the good die young."
In which case, I must not be all that good or I'd already be gone.
Oh well. I won't sweat it if I'm not.
Post-Saddam Iraq: The War Game
To put it in sexual terms, this was supposed to be a "gang bang" led by the studly United States and its testosterone-deficient junior partner, the United Kingdom, with the Israeli voyeurs watching with glee in Tel Aviv and selling videos of it via the Internet.
Sexual fantasies always turn out with simultaneous, multiple orgasms for everyone. The reality of "wargasms" is usually different. Or, in double entendre terms, "What if they gave a war and nobody came?"

About Face: Soldiers Call for Iraq Withdrawal
http://www.thenation.com/doc/20070101/cooperweb
Dream on, soldiers. Until you can get those oil reserves "locked down" better than you have so far, you're going to keep being sent back ... again and again and again.
It sucks to be stupid and/or naive enough to volunteer to fight a war for a misleading criminal. All U.S. elected leaders should be presumed to be New World Order-promoting globalist Luciferians. You should have done your "due diligence" as they say on Wall Street, which is your real master and commander in this war. Maybe Kerry was right.

A devil food is turning our kids into homosexuals

This is why the 4-year-old was diving into the teacher's aide's breasts. He realizes someone is trying to turn him into a queer and wants some real milk.
Waco boy, 4, suspended for 'sexual' hug
06:10 PM CST on Sunday, December 10, 2006
Associated Press
WACO – School administrators gave a 4-year-old student an in-school suspension for inappropriately touching a teacher's aide after the pre-kindergartner hugged the woman.
A letter from La Vega school district administrators to the student's parents said that the boy was involved in "inappropriate physical behavior interpreted as sexual contact and/or sexual harassment" after he hugged the woman and he "rubbed his face in the chest of (the) female employee" on Nov. 10.
DaMarcus Blackwell, the father of the boy who attends La Vega Primary School, said he filed a complaint with the district. He said that his son doesn't understand why he was punished.
"When I got that letter, my world flipped," Blackwell said in a story in Sunday's editions of the Waco Tribune-Herald.
La Vega school district officials said student privacy laws prevented them from commenting.
After Blackwell filed a complaint, a subsequent letter from the district said the offense had been changed to "inappropriate physical contact" and removed references of sexual contact or sexual harassment from the boy's file.
Administrators said the district's student handbook contains no specific guidelines referring to contact between teachers and students but does state that inappropriate physical contact will result in a discipline referral.
The La Vega school district, which has five schools, covers about 30 miles around Waco.
My first comment when I read this was:
Good move. Gotta nip these horny little bastards in the bud while they're young.
Then I said:
I just now realized the wicked pun I inadvertently came up with. Gotta "nip" ... I didn't even read it that closely the first time, but it must have registered on my subconscious that he was cited for plunging his face into the aide's cleavage. Kid must have really enjoyed breast-feeding.

Heaven
This video by a 14-year-old known as "Willow" has me weeping. The last two comments about "knowing that you really loved" and "that love all around you" is exactly what I experienced when I nearly died three years ago.

Hunter S. Thompson in February 2003
It is hard to follow what he is saying, but obviously he predicted all of what has unfolded. I myself thought the U.S. military would not be as incompetent, but I was opposed to it on the grounds it was based on a total pack of lies and was really about Israel and oil/petrodollars.
Plus, I knew it would blow a hole in the federal budget, although I had no idea, even being the pessimist I am, it would exceed one trillion dollars over time.

Forget Iraq, why couldn't I have just pulled out of Barbara sooner
We're all crying now, Poppy. This is why we support Planned Parenthood. As Jesse Jackson used to say, "Stay out da Bushes." He has a sob story about that as well from a few years back for which he is now paying child support.
Shock waves from college killing
She did not reciprocate his romantic affections, but Sam Houston State University cheerleader Rachel Pendray never turned away from Jake Taylor.
When Taylor, 24, tried to kill himself with sleeping pills last month, she called medical help to his home in time to save his life. And when Taylor showed up at Pendray's Huntsville apartment late Sunday, she let him in.
Paul McCartney's song (click on last three words of the quote above) is about people who have died who are knocking on heaven's door. I don't think Rachel has to knock.

Sam Houston State cheerleader dies in murder-suicide
Rachel was a straight-A student at Spring Woods and a cheerleader during high school, said Pendray, an industrial engineer. Rachel was helping pay her way through college by working at an Outback Steakhouse in Conroe, he said.
The lyrics of this song about a male's obsession with a female fit this case.
'She was an amazing girl' — Sam Houston State cheerleader Rachel Pendray, 20, of Houston, pictured with her father, was killed in a murder-suicide by a male acquaintance she didn't want to see, university officials said.

Linden chosen as site for Murphey Western Institute
I was a big fan of this guy back when he was a rocker. I am not as interested in his Old West preservation act, although it is a worthy pursuit. It is a real coup for Linden to beat out Aspen and Taos for this. I guess Murphey figured more people would visit if it were located in the flatlands, although this is certainly not classic "Old West" territory.
The kind of pine trees you see in Westerns are Ponderosas, not Loblollies.
